We voice our support of Black Lives Matter, The Movement for Black Lives, and the urgent need to stop excessive, brutal, militarized policing, re-visioning and creating accountable systems of public safety.
We acknowledge the genocide and systemic racism of our shared history that, in the present, continue to destroy brown and black lives and to poison the community we would build.
We commit ourselves to the study, reflection, and action that moves our organization forward in support of the vision of a world that embraces and supports thriving Black and Indigenous futures.
With humility, love, and a commitment to accountability, these actions include:
-Getting quiet, listening to and centering Black voices and responding to the calls for when and how to show up.
-Getting loud, speaking with a clear voice against systemic racism, individually and as an organization
-Supporting and fundraising for land sovereignty and reparations for Indigenous and Black communities.
-Advocating and organizing for anti-racist legislation.
-Finding programming and platforms to educate ourselves more deeply about intersections between Black and Indigenous histories and present day realities, and sharing this information with others.
